FAQ.

At La Falaise Lab, we understand that you may have questions about our services. That's why we've compiled a list of frequently asked questions to help you get the information you need quickly and easily. If you don't find the answer you're looking for, please don't hesitate to contact us and we'll be happy to assist you.

  • Do you do home visits?
    Yes, we do. No place is off limits. Call or visit the lab to get the cost and further details.
  • Are my test results kept confidential?
    Yes, they are. Each staff member must sign a confidentiality contract.
  • Do I need to make an appointment to have my test done?
    No, you do not need to make an appointment.
  • Do I need a form from a doctor to have a test done?
    No, you do not need a form from a doctor. As long as you know what test you would like done, you may walk in to do so.
  • I have some blood work, and there are many ticks. How many needle pricks will I get?
    We pride ourselves on our blood drawing skills. Regardless of the number of ticks on the form, you will 95% of the time be pricked only once.
  • I have a glucose tolerance test to be done, what should I do?
    Most glucose tolerance tests require that you are fasting; please verify with your doctor. During the test, you will drink a beverage containing a weighted amount of glucose. Depending on the type of tolerance test, you will be pricked every half hour, or after 1 hour up to 2 and a half hours or 3 hours.
  • Can I get a copy of my lab report?
    Yes. When you are being attended to, you can request a copy of your lab report. You can get a hard copy, or a pdf format copy via WhatsApp or email verification. Copies are available for a small fee.
  • How soon can I expect my lab report?
    Depending on the complexity of the tests, it could take a few hours, one day or several days to complete the tests. Upon drawing your sample, we usually let you know the turnaround time, or we will call you when the report is ready.
  • How do I get my report?
    Reports are hand delivered to your private doctor. In some situations, we ask that you pick up your report with a presentation of your receipt or ID.
  • Can someone pick up my report?
    Yes, the hard copy of the report can be picked up with the presentation of the receipt.
  • I have questions about my results, who do I speak to?
    We encourage our clients to discuss their results with the doctor or healthcare provider who requested the test(s). However, we have competent members of staff who can assist with brief summarizations.
  • What is fasting?
    Fasting means absolutely no intake of food or drink (except water) for a period of time. You must come to the lab on an empty stomach. From midnight, you are only allowed water. No coffee, tea, coconut water or fruit.
  • I have to fast, from when should I start, how long, and can I drink water and take my medications?
    You should fast from midnight, and come early to have the bloodwork done. A fast is typically 10 – 12 hours. You can drink only water. In regards to your prescribed medications, we suggest that you consult with your doctor or healthcare provider.
  • Do I need to fast for all tests?
    No, you do not need to fast for all tests. Fasting is required for these commonly requested tests: Lipid panel, FBS, Cholesterol, Triglycerides, Insulin, General health panel. If you are not sure, contact the lab, we will gladly assist you.
  • What are your forms of payment?
    We accept cash, credit/debit cards and MO-banking.
  • Do you accept payment via insurance?
    Currently we accept Sagicor cards (conditions apply). However, we do billing for Beacon and Nagico insurances (conditions apply). Alternatively, an itemized receipt can be given upon request after payment has been made.
